I am sorry, but i can't blame the onside kick for the loss. The call was acceptable, it was a gamble in the FIRST HALF that didnt pan out. The poor FG kicking and turnovers were the difference!

well Im not blaming the onside kick for the loss exclusively, but Im just making an example of an unneccessary gamble that really might not have been the smartest move at the time considering the vikings couldn't do anything on offense then. We give it to them in field goal range when we're only up by 3. Definately not the reason for losing the game but was a contributing factor.

payton has a college coach mentality....the way he yells at players and puts them in his doghouse....the way he lets one bad penalty throw him off his composure for a couple of plays...the way he gets piqued by media pressure and questioning of his questionable decisions...just wait and see as this team underachieves another season and how this guy bristles under the fire....lucky for him this city has a relatively tame media culture...new york, dallas, washington, philly, chicago, even green bay tears him up...he's just too hotheaded and young to have any of that sagelike wisdom yet...
