It is the DA's job to prosecute all crimes when committed to the full extent of the law.

If a Legislature wants to incorporate "nuance" they can.

You’re wrong. I watched a Netflix documentary that said our justice system is racist and mean!

I disagree with this definition of what a DA is and what they should be doing.

A DA's job and responsibility is to persue justice wherever that pursuit may lead. They should be above the fray in regards to the political bullshite. The key words there being should be.

A DA with a 100% conviction rate can be, and often is, just as bad as one who refuses to press charges or try cases. Nancy Grace is a prime example of this. She made her career on her impeccable conviction record. That says to me that all she was worried about was her public image, not justice. I don't believe for one second that every single person she charged was, in reality, guilty. The law of averages just doesn't work that way.

DAs offices have way too much freedom. The fact that a DA can refuse to prosecute or plea down anything they want is ridiculous.

They ought to have to justify every move they make. I am sure they receive some shitty cases at times and those can be dismissed or amended to the appropriate charge, but not everything they dismiss is due to lack of evidence.
