For a thinking man, it's far more than "emotional blubber", unless you think the CJ system should be without nuance and a grasp of the overall sociological and societal impacts of mass incarceration.

It is the DA's job to prosecute all crimes when committed to the full extent of the law.

If a Legislature wants to incorporate "nuance" they can.

Oh, BTW, this particular DA was employed by the University of Kansas School of Law as a lecturer and was dismissed for extortion a few months earlier. These are the people your types are electing.
