Makes me want to watch the game on mute.

I like him, not sure what’s stopping you from watching it on mute though if that’s preferred

I rather him than the rest of them. Besides Romo. Monday night crew is terrible.

He's been a public figure for 40 years and you hate him so much, but you have no clue how to spell his freaking name?

Hate is a strong word. But everytime he opens his mouth I miss John Madden even more. As ridiculous as Madden was, he was better than that clown.

Since the score/down-and-distance bug has been a permanent on-screen fixture for NFL games, I wonder why no one has ever thought to experiment with a commentator-less football game format.
Edit: the entire idea of TV commentators comes from the transition of radio to TV and the networks thinking there needed to be play-by-play guy and a color commentator to fill in the role audiences expected from radio games.
But at the end of the day, their role is redundant considering that all of the necessary in-game information is provided by graphics on the screen.
Edit: On occasion, when there’s an official review, you could break in with a retired referee to give their opinion on the ruling and the review.
But even the end of half interviews with coaches are meaningless traditions. The coaches don’t give any actual information and instead give vague platitudes about “needing to play better in the second half.”

He’s better than Aikman and Bob Griese

He does have a growl-talk voice. Very distinct and he cannot be confused with any other NFL TV announcer. If you listen to what he is actually saying long enough you kind of forget about his annoying (IMO) voice.

He's not the worst but that constipation voice of his gets aggravating

It does not feel right for this crew to be calling a day game in the bright Florida sunshine.
This should have been the Saturday night game.

Feels weird having him call a game during the day time while CBS is going to have a game start when the sun’s going down.

I actually like Collinsworth fairly well.

It’s “Cris”, but, otherwise, I agree with you.

Cris and Al are the best duo in the game. They are great to watch together. Not sure what the hell you are thinking.
