Just PCS’d to Ft Sam, apart from those courses on JBSA, what are some courses that aren’t too pricey?
Keep in mind I’m E4 with a family of 5. Can’t really swing those extreme high end courses

TIA

I’ve only played The Quarry. Treat yourself at least once if out of your price range, I enjoyed it. Shoot for spring before it gets too hot though.

La cantera Palmer course is fun. Can probably get a good rate during the week. May have military discount

Played one called Silverhorn once that was really nice at the time. Been years though. The back 9 of the quarry is super cool.

Definitely ask if they have Military rates for Actve Duty. TPC San Antonio has an amazing rate. Normally $200+, believe it is under $80 with Military.
The Quarry was a good course. i actually prefer the front nine vs the quarry.

Breckenridge is a fun little muni course. I think it may be the oldest course in tejas.

Played a few times with my pop when I'd visit.

I was looking at San Antonio with some friends for a golf trip. Don't you have to stay at the Marriot to get a tee time?

The Quarry

La Cantera Resort

La Cantera Palmer (watch for rattlers )

Hyatt Hill Country GC

TPC courses

Republic GC

Little bit of a drive, but The Bandit and River Crossing are Fun.

I hated when Pecan Valley shut down, the course had some history.

I don't think so. I would call the proshop. They were very nice and not pretentious when we were there.

Stayed and played there last summer.

It was nice but is it worth the money, no.

Honestly our group had a better playing Wolfdancer in Bastrop. After the round Cowboy Ribeye's and Cold Beer.
