OK, so because the US has made mistakes that makes us ineligible to try to hold other countries accountable. And because of this we can't say Russia has no right to invade a sovereign country, recognized by hundreds of other countries as sovereign?

So because of our past mistakes, is it now just might makes right? Russia can invade a sovereign independent neighboring country for whatever reason they want and we can't say, "Hey, citizens of this sovereign country don't want to be subjugated by you and they have a right to self-determination?" I think, as imperfectly as that theory has been implemented as you point out, that one of the founding principles of the US is self-determination. It's a principle, an ideal, and ideals are never met perfectly, but are perfections worth constantly striving towards. I'm not advocating total war with anyone, but shouldn't we point out when wrong is wrong?

NATO isn't trying to recruit Ukraine to pressure Russia as Russian claims, falsely as any objective observer can see. If Ukraine, and their neighbors are trying to join NATO it's because they were subjugated by Russia/the Soviet Union for years- millions were starved in the Ukranian famine of 32-33. How justly are we correct to oppose vaccine mandates; how about a country trying to re-invade yours after starving your great-grandparents?

Russia didn't stop with it's invasion of Crimea, now they want Ukraine and are making demands about Romania and Bulgaria.

Andy why? These poor little countries pose no threat to Russia, except that their citizens want freedom; Putin wants no freedom, so having free democracies near him threatens him and his power. What right does Russia have to dictate what happens in the independent countries of Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria, countries which they invaded and occupied and brutally subjugated after WWII? What is unique about these countries that allow Russia to dictate? Does that apply to all former Eastern block countries?

If we actually believed this, we wouldn't be the world's worst offender at violating the territorial sovereignty of free nations. This has nothing to do with principle and everything to do with money, specifically for our corrupt political class.

Yeah. I’d say “mistakes were made.” And that is exactly why the United States has no credibility whatsoever on the issue. It is akin to China preaching about Free Speech.
