Chief of police quit today... sad update to this situation
Obligatory "who?" when referencing their chief...

“This will confirm that earlier today, Mike Jones resigned as the Police Chief for the Town of Brookside,” the statement from town clerk Debbie Keedy read. “Since this involves a personnel matter, the Town has no further comment.”
I'm wondering if they actually meant that he resigned due to "personnel" issues or if they meant to say "personal" issues. I mean, why couldn't the town comment on issues with personnel at the town's police department?

Brookside Police Chief Mike Jones, who spearheaded the change and grew the police department tenfold, at least, calls the town’s policing “a positive story.” Mayor Mike Bryan – a former councilman who assumed his position last year after the death of the previous mayor – sits and nods in agreement.
The mayor was in on it, and benefitted from this thievery. Why is he still employed, and free? Why has nobody burned their houses down, tarred and feathered them, and sent them down the road?
