Not necessarily defending CDC but this criticism is dumb. Give the best advice possible and let the people decide to follow it or not. Don’t give BS advice just so people will listen



I hear what you’re saying, but ask any family medicine practitioner and they will say when you give a patient medical advice, there’s a way to communicate it for maximum effect and there’s a way to communicate it that will just go in one ear and out the other.

Like: “Your blood pressure seems to skyrocket when your favorite CFB team is playing. Maybe you should stop watching 80 percent of your teams’ games?”

Your patient is not going to comply.

But: “Maybe you should take an extra dose of lisinopril on CFB Saturdays.”

That might be doable.
