Let me start by saying frick STATE FARM. This is fresh on my mind, as I am replacing my roof, on my own dime, because that morally bankrupt company only offered to pay for the individual shingles that came off of my badly hail damaged roof.
So, I am in the market for a new insurance company. Looking for anyone that has had a good experience with the last hurricane.

Call Aundrea Allen with Safesource.
Easily the best and cheapest.

I went from State Farm to Farm Bureau and cut my premium almost in half and got much lower deductible. Farm Bureau wrote the policy through Progressive and I have not had a claim so do your research.

I would call 2 independent agents and let them find the best deal with no named storm deductible that is a percentage of your house.
These insurance companies are getting wise to the hail storm craze that has supported all these roofing companies in BR. So many of these guys in roofing companies give kick backs to the adjusters and the scratch each other’s back. Ever thought there would be a day where roofing company ads are about as plentiful as plaintiff attorney ads.

Tagging along here to save clutter - I'm looking for a landlord policy as well. Was with Lighthouse Excalibur out of Florida. Had it good with premiums only $750. They just bumped be to $1200 so I'm looking for recs as well. Only in need of about 160k in dwelling coverage. High deductible type of policy.

I completely agree. I started using a broker about 5-10 years ago and at the time they chopped my annual premiums in half. If you're in Baton Rouge, I use Insurance Network of Louisiana and have been happy with them.

Choosing a good and reliable insurance company is not easy now. I can share my experience of choosing an insurance company. I have written out all the necessary and important points that should be provided for in the policy. I also wrote down what I would like to get by buying insurance. After that, I turned to Agile Rates, and they easily helped me choose an insurance company in my area to meet my requirements. But you need to understand what requirements you have for insurance.

Have you tried fighting that with a lawyer or public adjuster? A shingle roof is a system and if you break the system, problems technically can arise. State Farm knows this. They’re fricking you because you haven’t fought it hard enough. Don’t give up, win, then leave.

I have an independent agent that gave me good rates through Progressive. My rates are low and I received enough on my Ida claim to pay for all my damage and that includes the cost of the deductible.
