Why do people act like everyone from a state is the same?
Because people just like to run with things they hear on a surface level without listening to any opposing viewpoints. I got blasted for calling out some guy for using pejoratives, e.g. communist, liberal, etc., and got accused of all sorts of things radical things, even though my post history is unabashedly anti-woke. It's just a lazy "if you're not with us you're against us" mindset.

Trump got 34% of the vote in California in the 2020 election. Why do people act like everyone from a state is the same?

Not just that, the 6,006,429 votes he received equal approximately the same as the total number of votes he got in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee combined (6,066,832)
