My brother in law is an ER nurse and he deals with these idiots all they time saying things like obesity was the “real” killer. Like someone who gets Covid and dies from not being able to breathe actually died from being 20 pounds overweight.

When people use the from/with argument, I don’t think they’re really referring to what you’re pointing out. They talking about person gets in a car wreck, when they show up to the hospital, they are tested and test positive for covid. They later die from injuries sustained in the wreck, but it was counted as a covid death. That kind of thing.

If They had otherwise survivable injuries and end up developing covid pneumonia, then that is a covid related death.

If they test positive and either have non survivable injuries or no covid symptoms, then that is not a covid related death.

Anyone who knows how to complete a death certificate will correctly contribute or ignore covid in that case. The problem is that most death certificates relating to any cause of death are not correctly filled out by certifying physicians. This is a problem that has been ignored forever, and is now suddenly an issue because of the interest in correctly counting covid deaths. The death statistics related to any illness is horribly inaccurate because certifying physicians can’t be bothered to complete death certificates correctly.

That’s not happening anywhere. If a person dies in a car wreck, they’re not waiting for a positive test and then filling out a death certificate with Covid listed as the cause of death.

What you’re talking about is a doctor lying on a death certificate for no reason.
