For rush hour you should prepare for an hour commute to Round Rock I would think. My advice to you if you are dead set on living in burbs, and you value your life, would be to pick the ones off of Mopac like Cedar Park. If Google says best route is I-35 to downtown, cross it off the list.
I’ve lived here for 7 years and it kind of feels like not getting on I-35 is some kind of cheat code.

The simple rule is live on the same side of the river that you work on.

I never ever get on 35. Mopac-45 toll roads. Get a tex tag
