Recs for a house on a lake/river in western NC?

I’ve been looking on Vrbo without a ton of luck, just a few decent options. I want to be ON the water and it must be a nice place, not just a place to crash.

We stayed in a nice house on Lake Glenville last May. It's not directly on the water (it's on a hill like most homes on the lake- you can't jump in the lake from the porch). It has a dock with kayaks/canoes.

Not houses, but Roaring River Vineyards in Traphill, NC has some nice lodging options on East Prong Roaring River. It is a smaller section of the River but very peaceful to listen too.

Check out Watauga Lake in Tennessee. It’s very close to the border of TN/NC and near Boone and Blowing Rock, North Carolina area.

I’d recommend a cabin rental on the Nantahala River. We rafted down this mostly class 2 rapids river, and now want to go back and stay in one of the many beautiful cabins along the way.
