Is that area not behind a levee? What protection would wetlands provide if the wetlands are behind a flood protection system?

Remember... this is an area where people were told "oh trust the levees"...

I hope of course that the new levee systems will be fine but again so much of what's happening down here comes down to trust. The locals don't trust the Corps and they don't trust the Port and it's hard to say they shouldn't feel that way.
