The WWI and WWII generations probably lost a fewer percentage of men in warfare than any previous generation in history.
The technology answer was close. Technology gave women their time and they were able to enter the workforce. Now, technology has created pushbutton warfare that women can fight as well as men. Lastly, government welfare made the man’s paycheck unnecessary.
