I know you’re big on the PS5

I just really don’t understand the argument. A PC build that performs closest to a PS5 would certainly be something similar to mine, right? 4K @ a steady 120hz requires some serious hardware. Getting your hands on a 6800XT alone right now would cost you more than double the entire console.

I feel like I’m being very objective and impartial being that I regularly play both and have extremely optimal setups for each.

What are you running 4k@120 fps on a PS5?

I'm actually on your side on this. I've always been a PC gamer, but with inflated component prices, I'm sticking with my PS5. My PC is 5 years old now and the PS5 blows it away, and to build a computer that can compete is just too costly. I dont play enough anymore to justify $2000 when my existing PC still easily handles the day-to-day stuff I do outside of gaming. I just play on my PS5, I don't play much FPS anyway.

No, it would be a PC like Steve was using for testing, using something like a 1060 6GB.

A PS5 can't play anything resembling a modern game at 4K native 120hz. Seriously. A PS5 generally has to use some significant upscaling (which isn't done all that well) to get modern games to a playable 60hz at 4K. Which is impressive for $500, but that's not what we're talking about.

Now you're moving back to value proposition, which isn't what your initial statement was. You said that the hardware in a PS5 blew your $4k gaming PC out of the water. Go play something other than Minecraft and you'll very quickly see how absurd that statement is.
