Well you have likely incurred the wrath of those who have swallowed the kool-aid. I haven't read another comment but i'm sure you'll hear ... fairness..free market...expensive coaches...etc. etc.
But you are right...and I am in the same boat with you. NIL is a plague and will due far more damage to athletes than good...it is rife with dishonesty, corruption, and distraction. I haven't heard one talking head "enlighten" their followers on the downside...not one..it's all about the bullshite called fairness...an abstraction and a lie.
Football and basletball are now forever tainted with the "portal" and NIL...and they both will impact the interpersonal relationships commonly called "team".

They try and spin it, we are just old, won't change, etc...well we see the change clearly, and most never knew college football when there was tremendous passion by fans AND players. Most of us are losing that passion for a sport that used to define heart and passion in sports. Today, play for us one day, enemy the next. Never could have happened in the past. College football is losing a lot of the allure that drew so many in. But hey, I'm in my 50s...I am old and dumb and can't see how great this is for college football...like the youngens can.
