Partially because we need upperclassmen starters who can make an immediate impact and partially because transfer portal guys have been recruited for a month and high school kids have been recruited for 3-4 years. Kelly only has so much time to make up ground and we need immediate help anyway

I can see this being the reason. I wouldn't sleep on some recruits out there either though.
