My hourly all inclusive costs is $140 and my Indian engineers are at $40.

Those engineering jobs are not coming back.

Get what you pay for.

Real life example. My 3 folks onshore are the same cost as my 10 folks offshore. It takes the offshore team 2 days to solve for X, while the onshore team is done by lunch on day 1.

When customers start complaining that velocity has gone to shite, executives see this and rebalance.

You can't ship everything to India and Gadansk, and don't even get me started about the turnover in those areas.

Oh I know - I have to be very specific abt when and how I engage India. It works for some things but not for others.

I work in b4 consulting.

My cost rate (not bill rate) is $148/hr. India same-level resource is $35/hr.

There is significant barriers to understanding our culture and problem solving as stated. One of the biggest benefits we try to leverage is a 24 hour workforce increasing our velocity.
