Maybe my place is different but I don’t have an issue riding close. The deer don’t spook from my SxS like they do if I’m walking.

Pulled up in a shooting lane last week and spread a sack of corn. Started to drive off and remembered I brought a camera. Got back off the buggy and walked 25 yards in the woods towards a tree that always has a scrape and jumped a buck that was bedded.

I’ve never walked to a stand or across a field and had the deer just watch me pass like they do when I’m on my SxS. My location is unique though so may not be the same everywhere

Crappy answer but it depends on the situation. This morning I parked over 700 yards from the stand I hunted. The problem with walking that far is heat and sweat. Some places I might only park 100 yards from the stand.
