This evidently came out of their London World Headquarters…but came from a perspective of the US and said so in the literature itself…and yet their stateside leadership is the one addressing the issue while saying it came out of London.
Why aren’t the London folks disavowing or explaining it for themselves? Why did London issue a directive or study guide from a US perspective? Why is the Stateside guy addressing issues created by someone somewhere else?
Their leadership has no idea that they should take a look at their equity, diversity and inclusion positions and perhaps add a consultant to handle crisis management.
…and the lesson of mistake making is always accountability. Every single time. Own your mistakes as authentically and personally as your successes. That builds trust and repairs harm. To your relationships. Or your brand.
But owning mistakes requires acknowledging them in the first place. Which they aren’t doing. To own a mistake requires admitting the mistake was made.
These people have no clue what they’re doing,
