Honestly, this is a great interview from a 21 year old.
I think we are splitting hairs here over the exact wording of a few lines. Overall, it was an outstanding interview and a lot of good, introspective things were said.
Could he have taken a bit more ownership over his lack of playing time? Sure. But, I have no issue with 98% of what came out of his mouth. He’s come a long way from “the nba can suck my dick” and the Jaxson we saw get tased this summer.
Maybe it will work here with him or maybe it won’t. I won’t be too pressed about it either way. I don’t think Jax is a bad dude or anything. He’s just a raw prospect with high highs and low lows. If he doesn’t succeed, it’s as much on Griff and the coaching staff as on Jax. We saw SVG reach Jax last year. Hopefully Willie can do the same eventually.

Nah man, maybe think a little deeper on that.
This is an interview from a guy who if he wasn’t picked where he was would be out of the league right now, acting like the only problem is everyone but himself.
He’s getting outplayed by journeyman, on a team with a GM that has literally fired our last coach for, in part, not playing guys like Jaxson Hayes more. And Willie was all but mandated to play him early in the year. Jax had to earn losing minutes, not the other way around, which is how it should be. And all I got out of the vast majority of that interview was the same trust fund bratty kid annoyed because the world didn’t hand him what he feels entitled to, like when he melted down over the rookie all star game spot. He’s now matured just enough to try and dress up and deliver his entitlement and blame shifting with an even keel, as opposed to melting down. But he’s still not getting it. Feels like until he is playing in China he won’t get it. Until every person he could point fingers at is gone and it’s just him.
….Jesus these picks were a disaster.
You’d have to attach multiple unprotected firsts to trade NAW and Jax for Garland…and Cle likely still says no
