He was a solid coach at every stop. His accomplishments at ND are very understated. Despite the tradition & blue blood, it is not an easy school for recruiting. He rarely had a top 10 class, but has seven 10+ win seasons since 2002.
I had him as a top 10 coach most years& top five in many. I never considered Kelly a possibility for the Tigers. No, he is not the most personable guy & will rub many in the media the wrong way, but if he wins, who really cares.
