re: How highly did you regard BK as coach at ND?

Before Kelly, I regularly told my ND friends that their glory days were gone for good. The Midwest just wasn’t the recruiting hotbed it once was and Catholics were no longer at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder looking to sports as a way out of poverty. Against that backdrop and with the added academic restrictions imposed by the ND administration, what Kelly accomplished was remarkable. I told my ND friends they were crazy anytime they grumbled about the couple of rough spots along the way. I didn’t put him in a class with Saban, Meyer and Swinney, but I always thought he was in the upper echelon of coaches beyond those 3.
