I posted this in another thread on the topic:
He may have two years of eligibility left if the NCAA grants him an additional year of eligibility for a seventh season on medical grounds and that is not a given. Additionally, he cannot apply for the additional year until he has exhausted his eligibility in 2022.
2017 FR played in 6 games
2018 Took his redshirt but played in 1 game.
2019 RS So played in 10 games
2020 RS Jr played in 3 games but a year of eligibility was not exhausted due to Covid.
2021 RS Jr injured did not play
2022 RS Sr
NCAA rule is you have 5 years to play 4. With 2020 not being counted by the NCAA, 2022 is year 5.
To get a waiver for an additional year after exhausting eligibility, a NCAA waiver panel would have to approve his application by a 2/3 majority. Granting a sixth year of eligibility is rare and a seventh is unprecedented.
Brennan has to approach 2022 as being his last season of eligibility.

This is unprecedented situation. If there was ever a reason to grant a 7th year, it would be to Brennan.

Agree with you there.
