Correct. If that’s not a repaint that plane and pilot were part of the Checkertail Clan. They were the 317th, 318th, 319th squadrons of the 325th fighter group. I wondering if this guy knows what he has? Checkertail Clan were some of the baddest mofos out there at the time. Suffered the lowest casualties and most kills of European Theater.

Once they were done in Italy the Checkertail Clan were to be deployed to Japan/SE Asia but two weeks before they were to leave Japan surrendered.
Google Herschel Green. He was one of many that were Checkertail Clan pilots that destroyed everything in their path escorting bombers.
