A bunch of CEOs will rejoice that they were able to trim some fat from their companies with government approval and reward themselves with bonuses and stock options.
It's a win/win for them. They can appear to have had their hands forced, and seem magnanimous when the mandates are lifted - acting as if they really cared about their employees.

But the people who were fired were smart, independent thinkers, problem solvers, and overall the best and brightest.
