All offenses have these. Option routes aren't nearly as exotic or out of the ordinary as people think. Option routes are literally the entire basis of the air raid, and the air raid is more or less the predecessor of most modern offenses.
Four verts--the most well known play on planet earth--is just four vertical routes with the WR adjusting based on leverage.
An offense without option routes would look like 2010-era LSU.
It's really not a feather in anyone's cap to run option routes. They are as ordinary as breathing air.
