That's incredibly sad and depressing, but what exactly are we supposed to do? The US can barely take care of itself right now, how can we take care of the rest of the world?

It’s too late now, but here’s what we can do: not forget what we did in Afghanistan. But then we have retards like Mo Geaux who don’t see why Afghanistan is any big deal and gets pissed off when anyone brings it up. In one sense I agree with you. We don’t need to occupy or run their country. I know this firsthand from my time there.
In another sense, if we would move on from Covid, get back to normal life, ramp back up our productivity, then the global food supply and general supply chain would greatly improve their conditions.
