Sat down with my Dad. Life long Democrat.
"You raised three boys, all conservative Republicans. Why do you keep voting Democrat?"
"Every time a Democrat got elected, I got a pay raise."
"Reasonable .... makes sense ....now they want to eliminate the military ...think it's time to change?"
"No, I'll stay Democrat."
"Too bad the sane part of the party left the docks years ago."

Which in turn was nullified by a raise in taxes. This is the way it has been for my 69 years and it still dumbfounds me that democrats don't or won't realize this.
