The first paragraph is confusing:

quote:

Venture Global LNG today announced plans to invest more than $10 billion in a new liquefied natural gas facility in Cameron Parish that will employ carbon capture and sequestration technology to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Let me explain. First of all LNG and CO2 sequestration are two separate processes.

The natural gas will be sourced from various points in north and central Louisiana. The natural gas will be compressed and cryogenically cooled at the LNG facility to load on LNG ships.

The CO2 arriving at the “LNG facility” will arrive by pipeline in a dense phase (either liquid or super critical). There will be no sequestration at the “LNG facility”. When it arrives at the LNG facility they will take the CO2 already sequestered by power plants, cryogenically cool it, reduce the pressure and then load it on to ships, trucks or rail for transport.

I’ve been in the LNG industry in SWLA for 11 years and this is not entirely correct. I understand what you’re trying to say, but it’s kinda miss leading depending on how the facility is set up. Either way this is big for the community.
