I've seen this brand recommended and I've been doing some looking and it looks like this is the package I need LINK, would possibly need to add 1 or 2 lights but that kit to start looks good.

I had heard that Costco members have good deals on Volt lighting, but I was looking at the Costco sight and This seems like the closest thing you can get through Costco.

It looks to me like the transformer/timer on the Costco bundle is different than the one offered on the Volt site and doesn't look as quality, also looks like it comes with less cable, although I don't see the cable length listed.

So my question for those more knowledgeable on the subject is should I get the cheaper Costco version or just stick with the straight from Volt bundle instead?

I bought from Volt and got the nicer transformer that I wall mounted. IIRC, it’s the 150w one and has an all metal housing.

I got the bigger kit through Costco when it was on sale for $399. It has the bigger 150w silver transformer. Very easy install. The longest part was burying the wire when I was done. I really like the light it puts out. It seems brighter than a lot of my neighbors.

Is that the kit that I linked from the Volt site?

Waste of money IMO. Super easy and less than half the price to get a transformer, lights and wire and DIY. Basically the same amount of work with a lot more flexibility,

You mean using volt products or something else? And if something else what?

Using any pre-packaged lighting system for a residential install.

Waterproof 12V, 150W transformers can be had for $30. Quality lights with M16 LEDs are $20-30.

What brand of lights would you recommend that are Volt quality or higher?

Also do you have a particular recommendation for the transformer?

If I can buy a transformer, 6 lights, and cable individually with equal or better quality for cheaper I’d go that route I just see Volt mentioned a lot on here is the reason I asked about it.

Just an FYI -- you can get ~20% off on Volt stuff (as well as a bunch of other brands) using your costco account on costconext.com
