what are your thoughts on current pop country?

don't get me wrong, i love country music, but it seems the artists that get mainstream media play are f'n terrible.

i have a coworker who was raving about toby keith and his red solo cup and it made me want to punch him in the face.

Never heard Red Solo Cup, but if its anything like his past few songs, then it sucks.

I love country music, its the only thing I listen to. However, listening to the radio or tryign to watch CMT is miserable.

I don't bash the artists out there like Keith Urban, Rascall Flats, Taylor Swift, etc, because they are talented, they are just not country.

Country music is in a sad state.

I dont mind a few 'fun songs' like Red Solo Cup (have you seen the video)

But in general the country on the radio is horrible. I like Chris Young, Eric Church, Jake Owen, Luke Bryan, Easton Corbin, and some Aldean but mostly the music on their albums that is not played on the radio.

Yep. Country music has become the music of 14 year old girls and city slickers.

Overall it sucks

I like the Zac Brown Band, they try to stay country....I like Luke Bryan because the chick in Shake it for me is so fricking hot its terrible.

Just gimme some King George, Alan Jackson and throw in some Bosephus and I'm good

New country has been bad for about 15 years in case you haven't noticed. If there is a southern cliche', some asshat has turned it into a song. The song about tractors being sexy really really pisses me off bad.

Listen to Sirius/XM Outlaw country and be done with it.

Some of them are catchy and have their place, like pop music in general (though most pop music sucks donkey tit). But I prefer "real" country.

I mainly listen to all the old stuff on my iPod, and download older stuff when I get tired of that, but I do listen to a little new country (and lots of Texas country).

Lots of good music still out there, just not mainstream.
