Recruiting notebook: LSU next stop for Emerson’s David Palladino
David Palladino didn’t have to wait long for another Division I baseball scholarship.
David Palladino was The Record’s 2011 Player of the Year while at Emerson. He is transferring from junior college power Howard to LSU.

The 6-foot-9, 270-pound flamethrower from Emerson will be heading to Louisiana State next fall after spending his sophomore year pitching for national junior college power Howard. Texas Tech also was interested because Palladino is throwing well after undergoing patella tendon surgery last spring.
“It doesn’t take long for most of our better players to get a scholarship offer,” said Howard coach Britt Smith, who sees Palladino as part of his four-man starting rotation in the spring.
Palladino, The Record 2011 Player of the Year, spent his freshman season at South Carolina Upstate. He won four games and saved two before his injury, but decided it wasn’t the place for him.
At LSU, however, Palladino will get a chance to step into the national spotlight.
“I thought it would be a great place to be,” said Palladino, who finished therapy for his injury this week. “I just want to go there and prove myself.”
I wonder if he actually makes it here.
