He feels confident that Ricks will pick LSU.
This would be absolutely huge for this class and the restoration of DBU.
Possibly one of the biggest recruits the Tigers have ever got.
Kelly going out of state and scoring Ricks would be a great sign for what’s to come.

That's probably a bit much when you consider LSU signed guys like Fournette, Stingley, Peterson. Hell, even Perkins. ALL of whom were much higher rated. It would be a great get at a position of extreme need. But one of the biggest every? Probably not.

Him announcing on Thursday instead of tomorrow is concerning. When it gets to day two the bidding can get out of control.

The difference this time is that Watts at Bama 247 is definitely softening the ground for not getting Ricks. When a Bama mod starts saying a 5* corner is "overrated and not necessarily elite", that's a pretty big tell that Bama doesn't feel like they are in the driver's seat
Watts has always been very transparent in his reporting. When they know they have a kid, even though every bit of public info says otherwise, he confidently states that Bama will be ultimately closing

He was ranked number 2 in the 2024 class before reclassifying to 2023. In terms of talent and being an out of state target this is huge. Could be mentioned up there with those guys.
Don’t downplay this.
