Student Section is boring

I wasn't there, but every single time it sounded like the crowd wanted to get it going in the 2nd half, Kentucky scored.

LSU didn’t give them a lot of excitement. Played with a lack of energy and intelligence, especially on defense.

Put the blame on the players and coaches for a change. The place was full and looking for an excuse to explode all night.

PMAC does need renovations and the size needs to be decreased, and then suites and clubs need to be added. No point in having a funeral like type of atmosphere for college basketball

Show up to more than one game a year and you wouldn’t be behind the goal. We had courtside seats when I was in school. We earned those because we were there every game. We had to camp out for big games. I was there for Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas, UNLV and Arizona when they were all ranked. I was also there for McNeese (Shaq broke a goal that night) and for Auburn when they sucked and we entertained ourselves with an L-S-U-Tigers chant. We showed up for games against Southeastern in December.

The students quit coming despite the fact student tickets cost almost nothing. So they gave up your seats. Pretty simple.

It certainly came across that way on tv. This was a close game with a lot of bad calls. No way the crowd should be as dead as it appeared to be.

I've been saying this for years, but the band needs to go. Nothing turns the PMAC into a library like getting the momentum, the other team calling time out, and we get 5 minutes of band playing and advertisements. Band and basketball isn't a good mix ever.

That all sounds awesome, but you have to admit circumstances are a little different... You were watching a superstar in an era in which there was no internet or cell phones for any of the students. LSU basketball was competing with pretty much nothing then. Now they're competing with endless entertainment. So unless you have a very entertaining team on the court (which we don't), you're not going to grasp the attention of the kids. It's as simple as that.
