Anyone have any idea about how the player's living expenses get paid?
I know CC league is sponsored by MLB. No idea the extent of sponsorship.

I think the players are sponsored by local families giving them places to sleep.

Here's a link to the Cape Cod League's list of sponsors and an explanation on how expenses are handled.

The Cape Cod Baseball League is a non-profit tax exempt 501 (c) (3) organization run by volunteers. It costs more than $600,000 per year to finance League activities and operations. The League finances special events such as the annual All-Star Game and Hall of Fame ceremonies. It also funds the costs of wooden bats, balls, umpires, scorers, statistics services, League publications, merchandise and administration.
In turn, each of the ten franchises must raise an additional $100,000 - $400,000 per year to run its individual organization. This amount covers coaching salaries, player travel, uniforms, field maintenance and equipment, franchise publications, concession and souvenir items, and administration.
The League is dependent upon yearly grants, donations and corporate sponsors. The Cape Cod Baseball League is extremely thankful of the following sponsors for their support and encourage you to patronize their products and services.

Depending on the league, some have a fee per player and a fee to the homeowner for housing. But most host families provide a job for the players so you come out ahead even with the fees. Good deal all around, and the games draw good crowds.

Host families and even employers (if want to work).

I had a friend back in college named Ryan who was a pitcher up in Cape Cod. He mowed yards for money on the side. Hooked up with a chick who looked just like Jessica Biel.

I'll bet he gave up a homer to Ken Griffey Jr. In ML debut too!

I would think this is a fairly common occurrence.

I believe they have host families.
