When it's all said and done, what would you consider a good year/down year?

After being ranked No.1 for most of the season, it's hard to say anything negative about this team considering where the program was just a few years ago. However, most fans - especially those that follow the elite programs - will find something to complain if they don't win it all. So what do you consider a good/bad year for this year's team?

Good - make it to the CWS. Don't have to win it all, but you have to get there!

Bad - lose in the super regionals considering the pitching and hitting ability of this team - even though the team has been struggling in both areas recently.

Totally unacceptable - get put out of the tournament at home against much weaker competition.

At this point the expectation is to make it to Omaha. There’s no reason this team can’t make it to Omaha with the path we have.

Anything short of a national championship is a disappointment

A realistic expectation would be to make it to the super regionals. Considering LSU has 1 starting pitcher. It’s going to be really hard to beat a team that has 2-3 legit starters in a super. Any team they play in supers will throw their weakest pitcher against Skenes and concentrate on other 2 games.

Omaha is a good season. With our injuries I don't expect to go far at Omaha but I believe we should be able to make it there.

Wouldn't be to pissed with a super regional loss.

Complete failure if you don't make it out of regional

Anything short of a trip to the CWS will be a major disappointment. LSU is going to lose the #1 and #2 draft picks after this season along with probably a lot of key veteran players. That's not to say LSU hasn't recruited well and that they won't be able to raid the transfer portal again for next season. But this was one of those seasons that you bookmarked at the beginning as a realistic championship season. As did everyone else considering LSU was ranked #1 to start.

Setting the expectation level at national championship or bust is unrealistic. We've seen time and time again the (presumptive) best team fall short in Omaha. But not making it to Omaha, particularly after getting what appears to be a very favorable path there, would be a overall failure. That may be harsh. But that's the reality.

This is a myth. Throughout the season our number 2 has been inconsistent. He has shown consistency the last 3 games in a very good way. He is 7-0 and shut down Arkansas this year.

There’s a handful of teams in the league with 2-3 legit starters better than Floyd and Hurd.

And none of them are paired with us.

I don't think people understand how rare it is to have a legit #3 starter. LSU has the best #1 in the country and a legit #2. That's more (in terms of starters) than plenty of good teams.

Rankings/placing in conference/seeding dont mean anything. A successful season should be winning the regional and super regional. If not the season and especially the coach is a disappointment.

There seems to be a lack of knowledge on how the rest of the college baseball landscape goes. We’ve beaten several teams better than any other we’re aligned to face in the Super including the 1 seed in the regional paired with us. No reason we should expect to lose a Super. We will be the favorites.

There's maybe 5 teams in America that have a better 1-2 than Skenes and Floyd. We are not matched with those teams in the super.

No they won't. This isn't week 6 of conference play. You don't voluntarily go down 1-0 in a 3 game series. Whoever we play in the super will pitch their ace in game 1.
