In January, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels passed up the chance to enter the NFL Draft and return for his fifth season of college football.
After helping guide the Tigers to a 10-win season and SEC West title, Daniels is now circled as one of the top quarterbacks in the country.
On Tuesday, On3 ranked the Top 10 quarterbacks ahead of the 2023 college football season.

Daniels checked in as the highest-ranked quarterback in the SEC and the No. 7 quarterback at the FBS level.
“Daniels’ performance in 2022 had the Tigers getting serious consideration for the College Football Playoff,” said the On3 staff. “He threw for a career-best 2,913 yards in addition to 17 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 885 yards and 11 touchdowns. That performance helped LSU to win the SEC West, and Daniels will hope to build upon it in 2023.”

Daniels’ 885 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns were both the most in a single season by an LSU quarterback in program history.
He checked in at No. 2 in the school’s record books with five additional single-season marks by a quarterback, including completions (266), attempts (387), completion percentage (68.7%), touchdowns responsible for (29), and yards of total offense (3,798).
Daniels, who has started more than 40 college games between his time at ASU and LSU, is part of a quarterback room in Baton Rouge that also includes sophomore Garrett Nussmeier and incoming freshman Rickie Collins.

Literally the only people that don’t think Jayden Daniels is a good college quarterback are some LSU fans.

Yet there are fans on here who still LEGITIMATELY don’t think he’s worth a shite. It blows my mind the thinking process of some of our fans lmao

As of right now, Daniels is the clear #1 in the conference.

He’s a fine college quarterback. He’s had some really good games. He’s also had some really bad games. He has to be more consistent if we want to win a national championship. That’s just the truth.

No, I think people think he is more likely to become constant based upon that fact that he’s younger and never been a real starter. I think there are people that believe Nuss has more room for improvement which I probably agree with. That doesn’t mean I think Nuss should start. I want whoever gives us the best chance to win the most games to start, that’s literally all I care about.

This is the correct Take. He was too inconsistent last year. He has to take that Next step to compete for a championship and I think he can. he played his best football in the UF-Bama stretch. If he can do that for a whole season we can win the championship

There isn’t a thinking process. They just don’t like one thing about him, but they’ll act like it’s bc he can’t read a defense

Agreed. There’s a difference between playing well for a 3 game stretch and doing it consistently over 15 games. I hope he can do it.

What is the one thing they don't like.

That just tells me he looks at stats and never actually watched any of the games.

Well that seals it. On3 is retarded.

Injury and illness contributed to his weaker games. It will be tough to stay healthy for a full season with his style, but if he can, he's good enough to win it all.
He may be overly conservative or have vision issues, but we saw him several times overcome that and play great. He could even improve...

That’s stupid. Couldn’t care less what color he is. He can’t hit receivers in stride, and misses open receivers down field. Other teams see this too. They know that if they make him beat them with his arm, that will give them the best shot of shutting LSU down. And that’s exactly what happened the last few games of the season.
