for a conference that uses "leaders" & "legends" I dont think they have a firm grasp on naming

I doubt it. It's a brand name more so than a number.

Will the SEC change their name if they add Texas A&M and Missouri? Neither of those are considered southeast and it is a stretch to say Arkansas is southeast.

No way they change. It's more about the identity than the official name. The conference didn't even formally change it's name to the Big Ten until 1987, despite being referred to as the "Big Ten" for decades.

If the SEC ends up adding Mizzou, OU and OK State to get to 16, why don't they just name the league the Big Tan since it is no longer really southern but still in all sunny states?
