If things happen as it appears they will, the Big 10 will scoop up a few Big East teams, maybe Syracuse, Rutgers or Pitt.

The SEC could add some combination of Florida State, Virginia Tech, or (longshots) Georgia Tech, or (even longer shots) North Carolina and Miami.

The ACC would likely replace any lost teams with Big East teams like West Virginia and UConn. The end result is that we may see both the Big 12 and Big East fold. The Big East would return to its '70s and '80s roots of being a basketball conference, with Georgetown, St. Johns, Seton Hall, Providence, etc.

In this scenario, schools left out would likely be Louisville, Cincinnati and South Florida. They would have to crawl back to CUSA. Or they could form their own league, with Memphis, Central Florida, and others.

Survive? They were already dead.

I mean survive as in remain in existence.

They'll probably field teams and have a conference champion, but I sure as hell would hope they'd strip them of that automatic BCS bid. That should go to the Mountain West.
