I understand the realities of it. Good for Tech. They've played politics better than anyone save OU. Even better for them, they don't get the stink of playing politics, even though that's the only reason they are protected on high.

If Tech stays in a BCS conference after realignment, their president deserves a raise.

Truth be told, the most profitable entity in the Disney empire, and the proven global leader in sports broadcasting, wanted to make the most money for its publicly traded parent company.

And they failed miserably....the only way I see that the LHN gets profitable is if UT goes independent and has all of its games broadcast on it......no national company wants to pick up a network with 1-2 tier 3 cfb games a year and womens volleyball....

I've gained alot of respect for Tech in this whole deal. I think they are going to the PAC with OU,OSU, and some other school.

They have a much larger enrollment and alumni base than Baylor.

Plus Buddy Holly > Baptists

But a smaller endowment and a more remote location. Baylor has a larger endowment than the whole Tech system combined.

Though I absolutely concede the Buddy Holly point. Except that he's dead.

Endowments don't watch football games on TV, people do and there are more people that went to or are fans of TT than Baylor.

As for the remote location, there are a lot of TT grads/fans in Dallas and Houston, maybe not as large as UT or A&M, but there are still plenty of them.

I wanted to get some mention of Buddy Holly in defense of Lubbock. I'll give a nod to Waco for Dr Pepper.
