Whats the problem in the Big 12

All this conference expansion seems to be fired by the break up of the Big 12.
What is the issue with them? I have considered them to be a very stable conference. So what if Neb and Col. leaves. Cant they just add TCU, Utah St, or Boise.
This is the most confusing part of the whole mess to me.

They should lose their automatic BCS bid if they lose more teams.

too much disparity

plus the lesser teams like colorado and such need to bolt early

based on what? Everyone in that conference hates each other, and it's only been around since '96

Well of course they can, but why would they want to add teams that don't add any markets and schools that suck (Boise)? I'm also assuming you mean Utah and not Utah State, which will never get an invitation to a real conference
