Why in the hell would anyone outside of a diehard UT fan want the LHN?

Not even the most diehard UT fan could watch the network that much. Good grief, how incredibly boring.

We are plenty saturated with sports networks already. When FSN here is televising three or four HIGH SCHOOL games, then we've run out of decent content.

no doubt that ESPN will require cable operators to offer the LHN at contract renewal time

Do they really have the clout to do this?

Someone posted in another thread that they want $0.40 per subscriber and that they want it in the standard package, not in a sports tier.

I think that's a bit ridiculous and I don't know that it can succeed. As it stands now, the cable television industry is hemorrhaging subscribers, and the long term viability of that business model is in question.

$300MM is not guaranteed. There are termination clauses that can be exercised

So ATXHorn WAS listening to the voices in his head when he said it was guaranteed? Maybe he just left off the last part of the clause, 300MM guaranteed "unless the network sucks, the ratings tank, or no distribution outlet picks up the sorry dog network."

The very bottom is part of the termination clause. The rest of the termination clause was redacted through the open record request. I wonder what they were hiding in that from the public?
