Can the Big 12 survive the loss of A&M? Do other teams bolt too or do they try to add members?

My thoughts are that they could possibly add one other team (not sure who. I bet they would love to get ND). If they lose more than A&M, it's over.

The Big XII met yesterday. Said they will either stay at 9 or invite 1 more school. They won't invite more than 1. OU and UTa dint want a title game.

Mizzou pledged they were staying but if Mizzou finds an out then the conference is in trouble

They'll survive until they lose Missouri or start looking at a new TV contract in 5 years or whatever.

Missouri is the last team left with close (potential) BCS conference options.

ND isn't joining any conference, let alone a dying big 12. Texas likes to throw Arkansas out there as potential dream scenario expansion targets too, which is in the hell freezing over area also.

Says here, "If A&M were to leave, the Big 12 could consider Houston as a replacement to the TV market."

I think they need bigger market teams right now to survive. That means adding on Boise, TCU, BYU-like teams would fill slots but not enough market share. (And yes I know Boise and TCU just signed with new conferences)...

It's pretty obvious Texass is just too damn good to be affiliated with any conference. They're goal is to be an independent.
