I was thinking the ACC would be the best bet for cake walks to the NC game. This is one reason I don't think FSU leaves the ACC. It's the reason they joined in the first place.

Tend to agree. ^Edit because I feel like I keep responding to you on here, even though we agree on most parts.

Anyway, I looked up FSU's rivals rank the last 10 years starting from 2011:

Fisher era:
#2
#10
#7
#9

Pre-Fisher:
#21
#3
#2
#3
#21
#4

Yeah, if they get into the SEC, they might be #1 every year. /sarcasm

They recruit in a hotbed of football talent. Arguably, more so than UF because they are located closer to Alabama and Georgia, even though UF has better access to the very talented southern part of the state.

Like I said, it's easy for LSU fans to criticize UF fans.

There is no inferiority complex. That's ridiculous from sports to academics comparing UF and FSU.

You don't have a rival. We have to hear their crap all year long and don't want to help them.

If they are in it doesn't change much for us. We will continue to play them and recruit against them as always.

What will change is that it will be that much harder to get to the NC game. Why would anyone want that?

If we were talking about admitting FIU or the like, then you would actually have a point. But this is FSU we are talking about and they will always have the money necessary to compete. You ain't really just helping them, you would be helping the entire SEC.

In the longer term, these superconferences are signaling a sea change in college football. It may be 10 or so years from now, but the big boys are going to separate from the little guys. That's the 4 - 16 team superconferences. At that point playoffs wlll be implemented and either you will be good enough to compete or not.

In the early days of the NFL, guys like George Halas agreed to share revenue among all the teams because it meant that the league would be stronger, the competition would be stronger and all would make more money. Teams like Green Bay and the Saints could not exist or have a of hope of competing if they didn't share.

You may not realize it, but the Packers/Bears rivalry is one of the most college like intense rivalry that there is in the NFL, but Halas agreed to give them money so that they could be good.

FSU will be strong regardless of being a member of the SEC or not. We would be better having them than not. We would all be stronger, including FL.

How so? Finanicially?

If a playoff system was in place the SEC gauntlet wouldn't be as bad. Without one though, adding FSU hurts the rest of our chances getting to the big game.

I suppose this expansion could be setting up for a playoff scenario down the road.

I'm not for expansion but if superconferences are coming it's better to be ahead of the curve.

Frick FSU still though. If you think Arky fans are obnoxious just wait.

AGREE!

Besides Florida, Alabama and Auburn recruit heavily in the panhandle.

TAM in the league will help LSU recruiting and help their own recruiting. With the media exposure, more kids and families will follow the SEC.and want to play in the Big league. TX and OK will be hurt more because the Big 12 will be a joke. I envision a neutral field Sabine River War at Reliant Stadium - 50-50 fans. This will be good.

To be quite honest, West Virginia or Louisville makes the most sense!!!

Louisville more so than West Virginia. I mean VT, Miami, FSU, & Clemson ARE NOT COMING to the SEC. Stop kidding yourselves!

I could see the SEC even bringing in Kansas State, then moving a current member of the West division over to the East (like say, Ole Miss or Auburn).
