@billyliucci Per source, as Big 12 member, UH would have green light to play football games in Reliant and bball at Toyota Center until upgrades complete

that's 32,000 seats compared to 71,500.

Guess all those extra seats will go to UT and OU fans when they come in town. They barely sell out Robertson when Tech and OSU come in and that was only because UH was making a little run. Going to be a lot of empty seats in the 600-level.

Yep. I'm a proponent of on campus stadiums if feasible. It's not like Rice moved to that stadium at some urging of a 3rd party. At one time Rice football was a big deal and mostly filled the stadium. It's also hosted a Super Bowl and JFK had a speech there.

I'm pretty sure Rice Stadium is in bad shape, or at least the upper decks are. Reliant Stadium is a much better option, all things considered.

I'm not saying UH should come over to Rice and play their home games but for many games for UH in Reliant would be like Tulane in the Super Dome. But granted UH will get the occasional UT or OU in town and mostly fill it up but when they play Baylor, Iowa St, Rice etc.... It will be a ghost town.

I would assume that Reliant would be used only occasionally.

That would make the most sense. Though the Dynamo will be moving out of Roberston soon so new renovations won't have to account for soccer just in case it'd effect them.
