is it plausible that if a rent-a-win type team was added to a BCS conference, that every game against a major team in that conference would be a road game?

for example tulane vs texas would always be in austin, or maybe once every three years in the dome instead of every other year like normal. texas would do this with all the other teams brought in to fill the conference too, but not the current teams already there

If Tulane was added to the Big XII it would be to increase their recruiting and tv footprint. Therefore they would have to actually be in front of faces in New Orleans. Playing the game in austin would not accomplish either of these tasks.

Agree.

The sips would want to tell NOLA-area players "You can come back and play in the Dome a couple of times".

Exactly. Plus, not even a rent-a-win school would want to miss the chance to increase game-day revenues. A team like Tulane that's in such a good location for fans to travel would benefit greatly from some of the bigger schools making bi-annual trips to NOLA.

The City would definitely be for adding 20,000+ travelers 5-6 times a year. I could see them getting to that next level.
ITS NEW ORLEANS!!

Well, since those game day revenues, outside of ticket sales, go to the Saints, Tulane wouldn't really be gaining much.

Would still be a good thing for them though.

20,000 more tickets a few weeks a year would make a material difference for a school like Tulane.
