I agree with this statement. Texas is its own region. Texas.

You can hate if you want, but this is based on size, geography, and the fact it was once a stand alone nation.

the fact that Texas supported racism doesn't make them "The South"

if the want to expand make a play for Ga. Tech and Clemson.

Here's the drill on this argument. I find it's pretty well received. Everything east of I45, the line from Houston to Dallas, is "the south." - or the green shaded area below. Culture, geography, fauna and flora, language, cuisine, ethnic makeup. East Texas is the south as much as Louisiana is. West of I45 is the southwest or more specifically our own brand of the southwest.
