Texas A&M and Mizzou makes the most sense for SEC expansion..

It would be great to add Texas A&M to the SEC - Great academics, Strong tradition and a good personality fit with the SEC..
I hate Mizzou, but it borders SEC States and St. Louis and Kansas City would be great cities to add to the SEC market. They also celebrate BBQ as much as the south, so there is some cultural similarites which needs to be maintain in expansion - unlike Texas Tech and Cal Berkeley, WTF..
Expansion right now is a territory war and Clemson, FSU, Miami, don't add anything..
V-tech and West V, don't seem to fit regardless..

i dont think mizzou fits either. i think VT is a good option honestly. "southern" but also brings the beltway that follows them.
this is what is differnt from "us and them". me and wife just got into an argument over who should be "allowed" to come to the SEC. she even dropped the F word on me when we didnt agree. find that in the pac whatever and acc.

I like the A&M/Mizzou add. It would add Dallas, Houston, San Anton, St Louis and KC - that's big.
Plus it would add rivals for both LSU and Arky. Realistically for what's available right now, it may be the best option for the West.

MsandLa:
All our teams have some beltway fans but there is definitely a Southern element at Mizzou. Hell, their band used to play Dixie right after the Missouri Waltz. There are some schools, most notably Ole Miss, where one cannot escape the Southern element. At Mizzou it is simply a matter of which crowd you choose to hang with.
Mizzou is a great school. It is the oldest public university west of the Mississippi River and has the oldest journalism school in America. Its academics are fairly high and the campus is beautiful.
Mizzou would be a great fit in the SEC.

One more thing. There is a monument to the Civil War dead of Boone County on the lawn of the court house in Columbia. If you are ever there you should stop by, read the names and count them. Then tell us how many were Confederate soldiers and how many were Union.
